MKAIWAWI MWAKABA

Mkaiwawi Mwakaba (*1994) is a seasoned film professional with over 15 years of experience. As an editor turned writer/director, her work includes several documentaries, short films, episodic series and the award-winning Kenyan feature film “Nairobi Half Life,” among others. Her interest is in projects centered around women issues, children, and the African continent. She has a B.A. degree in Communication with a focus on Film, TV and Public Relations, and a Psychology minor. She is also an alumnus of the Berlinale and Durban Talent Campuses, and a Cinephilia Film Development Fellow. Away from work, she enjoys travel, and mentoring young filmmakers.

"In Another Life" (TV series)

A middle-aged woman finds herself in a seemingly frustrating season of life, often thinking of how different life might be in an alternate universe. She discovers a way of escape through the recesses of her psyche, resulting in tumultuous and sometimes hilarious occurrences which threaten the existence of her present reality.
