Helena Medina
Helena Medina started her career at NBC in New York and since then, she’s created and written miniseries and series for numerous channels and platforms. Important milestones in her career are her miniseries: “Operation Checkmate,” nominated for an Emmy and awarded, among others, with the Bronze Medal at the New York Festivals TV&Film Awards and the Silver FIPA at the Biarritz International Festival of Audiovisual Programming; and “23F: The King’s Hardest Day” which won her the ALMA Award for Best Screenplay, a nomination for World’s Best Screenplay at the International TV Festival of Shanghai, the World Silver Medal at the New York Festivals TV&Film Awards, the National Television Award and the ONDAS in Spain, among others. Other significant works include: “Quello che nascondono i tuoi occhi,” “Niños Robados” and “De la ley a la ley.” She’s now writing “XRey” for Starz/Sony and developing “Smuggler” in the UK as creator and executive producer. Helena is also an expert at Creative Europe Media Programme and has been a jury member at the San Sebastian Film Festival and Emmy Awards.
